Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association

Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA) is the leading international non-profit association for professionals incorporating horses to address mental health and personal development needs. This unique form of therapy incorporates 3 entities: A licensed Mental Health Professional, The Equine Specialist, and the Horse. All three are an integral and necessary part of this type of therapy. The Licensed Mental Health professional facilitates the counseling session, while the Equine Specialist watches and acts on what is happening in the arena with the horse and student. The approach is collaborative in its treatment goals, having the therapist, horse specialist, and horse hold a space for experiential learning to occur. At Stable Grounds the therapeutic treatment goals are defined by parents, teachers, school counselors, and the students themselves.
